As most of our followers know I have spent the best part of the spring in Ceredigion working on the refurb of two properties.
Ty’r Eithin in Gwbert has been completed and for the last month I’m so pleased to say that it has been well received and the guests are really enjoying staying in this beautiful part of Wales. See more here
Y Stiwdio at Borth has this week been listed (also with Travel Chapter )
I have to admit, previous to this commission I had never been to Borth, but I have loved working there and I love Borth. I think in many ways it reminds me of the North Wales beach at Dinas Dinlle near to where I was born and, like Dinas Dinlle, Borth is totally unspoiled and unpretentious. It has free parking right next to the blue flag beach, and you can walk for miles along the cost to Ynys Las. I hope it stays this way......... but have a sneaky feeling that this little undeveloped secret won’t remain so for long. So let me share the results of this Refurbishment Project with you.
Y Stiwdio is such an apt name for the apartment as the front seating area has a huge window with panoramic view of the coastline and wonderful light. Perfect for a painting and sketching holiday but equally good for relaxing with a glass of wine and just people watching.
Y Stiwdio is large enough for a family of four and two sets of grandparents.....with plenty of nooks and crannies to escape for a quiet half hour but it also has a beautiful huge French dining table to seat 10 where everyone can congregate and enjoy wonderful meals after a long day on the beach
The 4 bedrooms are airy and spacious with super king size beds and I have aimed to give them a combined coastal and scandi style, which I love and I think is so easy to live with and enjoy.
I wish Derek and Gwen all the very best in this venture. It was such pleasure and I hope you enjoy having a peep at the finished project.
Whats next from Pethau Bychain?
In the next couple week or so I will put together some boards in different styles using the latest trends in colours and textures. Watch this space.......

Dwn i ddim be sy wedi fy swyno....ond mae o yn le syn hollol onest...sdim byd yn grand na slic am Borth...a dweud y gwir me o yn fy atgoffa o Dinas Dinlle yn y gogledd lle treuliais orie yn ystod fy mhlentyndod...beth bynnag yw’r atynfa gobeithio bydd Borth yn cael llonydd i fod yn bentre lan mor or hen ddyddie am flynyddoedd i ddod.
Mae'r enw Y Stwidio mor addas ir gofod gyda'r ffenestri enfawr yn edrych dros yr arfordir...man delfrydol i’r sawl sy’n hoffi paentio ond man gwell fyth i eistedd a gwylio’r haul yn machlud gyda gwydriad o win.
Mae digon o le i deulu o 4 yma yn ogystal a dau set o neiniau a theidiau.....gyda digon o gorneli cudd i ddianc am ychydig o lonydd ond wedyn bwrdd enfawr i bawb eistedd i wledda ar ddiwedd y dydd.
